New product design and development in the field of health, rehabilitation, or sport is a crucial factor in the survival of a company, as in any other areas. In an industry that is fast changing, firms must continually revise their design and range of products. This is necessary due to new basic knowledge, continuous technology change and development as well as other competitors and the changing preference of customers.

The technologically-driven development of new products in the health business benefits from the proximity in EuroMov of state-of-the-art research in the sciences of movement and up-to-date technological equipment. EuroMov R&D thus offers to R&D centres (i) a one-to-one partnership, and/or (ii) the opportunity to localize one or two offices at the heart of the centre, in direct contact with researchers, engineers, PhD students and post-docs, with privilege access to the technological equipment (see EuroMov-TP).

The existence of R&D services within or in close connection to EuroMov also facilitates joint research projects, product developments, PhD supervision (CIFRE contracts), as well as the submission of european (FP7 – cooperation), national (ANR) and regional (ARPE) proposals.
