Our mission
Welcome to EuroMov, the european nexus for research, technology, and innovation in the Movement Sciences !
Our mission is to conduct state-of-the-art research on human — normal and pathological — movements, with high-level academic and professional training, technological development and business incubation. We offer opportunities to researchers, graduate students, R&D engineers, and start up managers to realize their goals in an up-to-date scientific and technological environment.
EuroMov is an emblematic nexus of UM1-Entreprendre, the fondation of Montpellier-1 University. It is supported by the Languedoc-Roussillon regional council, with additional support from the Conseil Général de l’Hérault and the European Commission (FP6 and FP7 projects).
EuroMov includes:
focusing on the origins of human movement, with applications in the domains of health and health-oriented technologies, ageing, handicap, physical activity, sport and human-machine interaction.
serving as an open facility at an international level for R&D departments, fundamental and clinical research centres in neuroscience, biomechanics, psychology, physiology, robotics and virtual reality.
dedicated to movement technologies, physical activity, health, and sport, that capitalizes on the highly developed network of institutional and private business partners in the Languedoc-Roussillon region.
in the various domains of motion capture, health technology, sport, physical activity, biomedical engineering.
for academic and professional training and scientific events in synergy with regional research laboratories and Ph.D programs in Human Movement Sciences and Information Technology.
Offices and lab space for international visitors, partners of our european projects, collaborators from north and south american, asian, african and oceanian continents.
The new EuroMov building (2500 m2), in the north of Montpellier, hosting all activities of the center, will be available early 2013. Details and progresses with the construction can be found here.
